Camaloch Golf Course — Collective Review
Summary
Camaloch Golf Course on Camano Island, Washington, generally earns positive sentiment from visiting and local golfers, with review aggregators showing high recommendation rates (averaging approximately 4.4 out of 5 stars across booking platforms and directory sites). The most widely praised feature of the Bill Overdorf-designed 18-hole track is the quality of its greens. Reviewers on GolfNow and GolfPass frequently highlight the putting surfaces as among the best, smoothest, and truest-rolling in the Pacific Northwest region, noting they play fast and consistent. Golfers also commend the overall value, scenic Pacific Northwest setting, and warm hospitality from the clubhouse and pro shop staff. The layout offers an engaging test of accuracy, characterized by tree-lined fairways and small target greens. However, criticisms do emerge. The tight corridors can be unforgiving for high handicappers, and the speed of the greens frequently results in easy three-putts. Some reviewers have expressed frustration with peak-hour golf cart management operating on a first-come, first-served basis, and occasional long-time players mention seasonal variations in fairway conditions. Overall, golfers view Camaloch as an enjoyable, well-kept 'hidden gem' that delivers exceptional bang for the buck.
