Fisher Park Golf Course — Collective Review

Summary

Fisher Park Golf Course in Yakima, Washington, is a highly regarded municipal 9-hole par-3 facility run by the local Parks and Recreation Department. With an aggregate score around 4.5 out of 5 stars across primary platforms like Google Reviews and Yelp, golfer sentiment is overwhelmingly positive. Reviewers consistently highlight the course as an exceptional value, noting affordable green fees typically ranging between $8 and $15 alongside generous weekday specials. Golfers frequently praise the course conditions, expressing pleasant surprise at how well the greens and fairways are maintained for a modest city park. The putting surfaces are often described as fast, true, and adequately challenging. Measuring roughly 1,354 yards with holes spanning between 95 and 191 yards, it is widely considered an ideal spot to dial in irons, wedges, and overall short-game mechanics without needing woods or drivers. The overall ambiance is praised for being laid-back, scenic, and approachable. It serves as a favorite destination for families, seniors, and junior golfers learning the game. While dedicated golf aggregators like GolfPass and TeeOff feature minimal reviews, community feedback on Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor confirms strong local appreciation. Criticisms are minor and largely inherent to its design: it operates on a first-come, first-served basis without tee time bookings, amenities are limited to basic snacks and rentals, and experienced golfers looking for a full-length championship challenge will find the par-3 layout short. Nevertheless, players consistently celebrate Fisher Park as a well-kept hidden gem for quick, fun, and wallet-friendly rounds.
