Scott Lake GC — Collective Review
Summary
Scott Lake Golf Course is a modest, 9-hole public layout situated within a quiet residential neighborhood just south of Tumwater and Olympia, Washington. With ratings averaging around 3.7 out of 5 stars across platforms such as GolfPass/GolfAdvisor, Yelp, Hole19, and UDisc, the overall sentiment tilts positively, though reviews are somewhat limited in volume. Golfers primarily appreciate the facility as an accessible, low-pressure community track that offers excellent value for the money, frequently noted as an ideal spot for a quick, casual nine holes under twenty dollars. Reviewers consistently praise the friendliness of the staff and club regulars, who make visitors feel welcome. The 9-hole, par-35 layout spans roughly 2,550 yards from the back tees, delivering a forgiving mix of shorter holes for confidence building alongside a few narrow or challenging shots where errant balls can easily end up out of bounds near adjacent residential homes. The greens generally earn decent marks and roll well in the summer, though some reviewers have pointed out inconsistent turf quality, beat-up tee boxes, and soft, spongy greens during wetter periods. Amenities are bare-bones, focusing strictly on fundamental golf, and while the course previously hosted an 18-hole disc golf setup, disc golf operations have since ceased. Overall, players describe Scott Lake as an unpretentious, enjoyable home course for beginners and casual golfers seeking a relaxed, budget-friendly round.
