Suntides Golf Course — Collective Review

Summary

Suntides Golf Course, located northwest of Yakima in Central Washington, is widely regarded by golfers as an enjoyable, no-frills public track that delivers outstanding value. With more than 200 recorded reviews across golf platforms such as 18Birdies, GolfPass, TripAdvisor, and Golfshake, the course holds an overall positive reception averaging around 4.3 out of 5 stars. Golfer reviews frequently emphasize the quality of the greens, noting that they consistently roll true, fast, and remain in strong condition even during shoulder seasons. The layout, designed by Joe Greer in 1965, plays at a par 70 and just under 6,000 to 6,250 yards depending on tees. Most players find the course difficulty to be moderate and fair for golfers of all handicaps. The pace of play is generally reported as brisk and unobtrusive. On the critical side, players occasionally note that the fairways and visual aesthetics are fairly average compared to premium destination courses in the region. A common playing complaint involves the rough, which can be cut long and thick enough to make finding wayward balls difficult just feet off the fairway. Overall, golfers praise Suntides for its welcoming staff and friendly local crowd, complemented by convenient facilities including a pro shop, restaurant, lounge, and practice greens. Set against backdrop views of nearby rock cliffs and orchards, it is consistently praised as one of the best bargain rounds in the Yakima Valley.
