Wandermere Golf Course — Collective Review

Summary

Wandermere Golf Course in Spokane, Washington, earns predominantly positive feedback from golfers across platforms such as 18Birdies, GolfPass, Yelp, and Facebook. Operating as a family-owned public facility since 1929, the course is praised for its historic charm, welcoming atmosphere, and strong community feel. Golfers consistently highlight the property's outstanding value, often noting that its green fees are more competitive than nearby municipal courses. In terms of course conditions, reviewers frequently mention well-maintained fairways and fast, undulating greens that provide a fair and interesting putting challenge. While relatively short at around 6,050 yards, the layout features mature, tree-lined fairways and natural undulations along the Little Spokane River that keep it engaging without being overly punishing for casual players. The staff and hospitality receive widespread compliments, as do the casual dining amenities and the 19th hole setting. However, the most consistent criticisms focus on pace of play. Multiple reviewers cite backups on the front nine and slow groups that are reluctant to let faster players through. Additionally, the lack of an on-site driving range is occasionally pointed out as a minor drawback, requiring golfers to visit nearby facilities to warm up before a round. Despite these pacing complaints, golfers widely consider Wandermere a local staple and a scenic, accessible track that is well worth playing.
