Wine Valley Golf Club is one of the premier courses in Washington state. It's an 18-hole championship layout that can play as long as 7,600 yards and is challenging for even the Northwest’s best players. However multiple tee blocks and different site lines also allow an enjoyable round for the recreational crowd. The setting is beautiful as it rolls through the wheat fields and foothills of the Blue Mountains. Native grasses strategic bunkering, (both fairway and greenside) and occasional water all lurk to make crooked punitive. However, the fairways are wide enough to allow the “Big Dog” off the tee as the prominent play. Maybe the best features of Wine Valley are the greens. They are big, they are undulating, and they are fast. If your flatstick is in a funk, a long day and a high score surely await. Regarding the maintenance, you don’t get to host some of the Northwest’s most prestigious golf tournaments without excellent course conditioning. A real treat for those who appreciate a well-maintained track. Amenities, of course, are first class.
