Newcastle GC Range — Collective Review
Summary
The Golf Club at Newcastle is widely recognized as a premier public golf destination in the Puget Sound region, primarily celebrated for its stunning views and expansive clubhouse facilities. Visitor feedback regarding the driving range and practice areas is mixed. Many patrons appreciate the well-managed nature of the practice area, which includes two putting greens, a chipping green with bunkers, and an 18-hole putting course, making it a fun spot for social practice. However, some golfers have expressed disappointment regarding the value proposition of the range. Specific criticisms include the high cost of range balls, the reliance on hitting off mats rather than natural grass, the absence of target flags, and the perceived age and quality of the range balls. While the facility is often praised for its aesthetic appeal and professional staff, some visitors feel that the equipment and maintenance of the practice area do not always align with the premium pricing associated with the Newcastle brand. Overall, it is viewed as a high-end facility that excels in atmosphere and scenery, though serious golfers looking for a traditional grass-range experience may find the practice amenities lacking relative to the cost.
